Position Overview

ISC is seeking a Perimeter Security Systems Installer to support the installation and commissioning of advanced perimeter intrusion detection systems across customer sites throughout the United States and Canada.

The role is based out of ISC headquarters in Novi, Michigan, which serves as the central hub for equipment staging, system testing, and warehouse operations between deployments.

This is a hands-on, client-facing technical position requiring a professional presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and project stakeholders on site.

The position focuses on the installation of low-voltage security infrastructure, including sensors, cabling, communications equipment, and associated hardware.

The role involves significant travel (approximately 75%) to project locations, with the remaining time spent supporting system testing, equipment staging, and warehouse operations at ISC headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Field Installation

• Install perimeter intrusion detection systems including fence-mounted sensors, pole mounted sensors, cabling, and communications infrastructure
• Perform standards-based low-voltage installations in accordance with project drawings and specifications
• Install conduits, junction boxes, mounting hardware, and equipment cabinets
• Support system commissioning and testing at customer sites
• End user training

System Testing & Commissioning

• Assist with functional testing of installed systems
• Troubleshoot installation issues and support system configuration
• Document installation activities and testing results

Warehouse & System Preparation (Novi HQ)

• Stage equipment and prepare materials for upcoming deployments
• Assist with system assembly, testing, and packaging prior to shipment
• Maintain tools, inventory, and installation equipment

Qualifications

• Experience with low-voltage electrical or security system installation
• Ability to interpret installation drawings and technical documentation
• Experience with conduit, cable routing, and field installation practices
• Ability to work outdoors and in varied site environments
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred:

• Proven experience as a client-facing representative, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, a professional presence, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
• Experience installing perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS)
• Background in military base, critical infrastructure, or government projects
• Electrical or field trade certification

Requirements

• Approximately 75% travel to installation sites across the United States and Canada
• Approximately 25% based at ISC headquarters in Novi, Michigan supporting system testing, staging, and warehouse operations
• Ability to pass background checks and drug tests

Employment Details

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate $26 p/h (prevailing wages where applicable)
