About the Role:
A retired businessman with Parkinson’s is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and proactive
Personal Assistant to help oversee household organization and scheduling. You’ll work closely with a
team of caregivers and a care manager to ensure the home runs smoothly and consistently. The ideal
candidate is organized, trustworthy, and capable of anticipating needs without requiring direction.
Responsibilities:
•Oversee household scheduling and coordination in collaboration with caregivers and the care
manager.
•Coordinate vendor visits such as the cleaning company and private chef, ensuring their
schedules align with the client’s availability and care routine.
•Communicate regularly with caregivers to ensure household errands, grocery deliveries, and
supply orders are completed on time.
•Track and update household calendars, including appointments, service visits, and personal
engagements.
•Manage and organize mail, paperwork, and financial records, including bill payments and
credit card reviews.
•Maintain and organize digital and physical filing systems for personal and past business
documents.
•Draft and manage correspondence (emails, letters) as requested.
•Provide light technical assistance (computer, phone, printer, or speaker system).
•Support caregivers in maintaining order and consistency throughout the home.
•Take initiative to identify and resolve problems before they become issues (e.g., noticing low
supplies, scheduling maintenance).
•Communicate updates to the care manager as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Prior experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or Household Manager.
•Strong communication, organization, and scheduling skills.
•Tech proficiency (Mac, iPhone, email systems, printers).
•Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
•Experience supporting an older adult or individual with Parkinson’s is preferred but not
required.
Work Environment:
•Private residence in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan.
•Collaborative environment with caregivers and a care manager.
•Flexible hours based on household and client needs.
