Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. This role involves working closely with individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while promoting independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, fostering an environment of respect and dignity.
- Monitor and observe patients for changes in condition or behavior, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines and therapies.
- Assist with mobility and physical transfers as needed, ensuring safety during all activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a current understanding of first aid protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and best practices for working with individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively.
- Certification in First Aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Reliable – time management is a must.
- Valid TB test
- In person CPR/First Aid Certification
- Empathetic with an upbeat personality and willing to make a difference.
- Communicate effectively with elderly and other clients with special needs.
- Flexible and willing to adapt to ever changing situations in the home.
- Confidentiality is a must when dealing with clients.
