Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents in compliance with privacy standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home, or group home settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, or dementia preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Demonstrated understanding of patient care standards and safety protocols within long-term or home care environments
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified support
