Personal Care Aide

Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor patients’ health status by observing and recording vital signs, behavior changes, and overall condition.
• Support medication administration and care plan implementation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare protocols.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges.
• Document care activities accurately, communicate effectively with healthcare teams, and adhere to all safety procedures including CPR and first aid protocols.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, or group homes is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
• Certifications such as CPR, first aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining compassion and patience.
• Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and social work principles is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to effectively support residents’ needs and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
