Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing and recording vital signs, behavior changes, and overall condition.
- Support medication administration and care plan implementation in accordance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges.
- Document care activities accurately, communicate effectively with healthcare teams, and adhere to all safety procedures including CPR and first aid protocols.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, or group homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Certifications such as CPR, first aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining compassion and patience.
- Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and social work principles is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively support residents’ needs and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
