Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report changes to healthcare professionals promptly
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by nursing staff
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs while ensuring food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained
- Observe residents closely for signs of health issues or behavioral changes, especially in patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Become med certified. Medication Technician training provided.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential
- Experience providing dementia care, Alzheimer’s support, memory care, or working with individuals with autism or disabilities is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in hospice or home health care is a plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams
