Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. right now the schedule is a 10 AM till 1 PM Monday through Saturday availability for a 930 till 1230 Monday through Saturday availability. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care, assisted living, or similar environments and possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role involves working closely with individuals who may have developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health concerns, ensuring their comfort and safety.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care including monitoring vital signs and assisting with medication administration.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Support clients in memory care activities and engage them in social interactions.
• Document patient observations and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or caregiver.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Follow care plans developed by healthcare professionals to ensure personalized support.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving, home health, assisted living, or nursing home settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality practices.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia is beneficial.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes in health status.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
