Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant (Weekdays only), where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs to live independently and thrive within their communities. You will work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities, delivering essential support in a respectful and empowering manner. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support behavioral health and behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and emotional stability
- Facilitate communication using skills such as American Sign Language or other communication methods as needed
- Help clients participate in community activities, appointments, and outings using safe driving practices
- Collect data on client progress, document care activities, and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and ensure proper medication storage and documentation
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster social engagement and reduce feelings of isolation
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other disabilities in home or community settings
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
- Ability to perform caregiving duties with compassion, patience, and professionalism
- Familiarity with data collection methods for tracking progress and reporting outcomes
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe transportation of clients
- Understanding of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
