Personal Computer Support Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Personal Computer Support Technician (PCST) to join our support team at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF).

In this role, the PCST will provide support to an enterprise IT environment which includes delivery, installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for stand-alone computer devices, mobile devices, computers linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals. Support responsibilities may include software installation, and configurations. This technician may perform technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for computer hardware and software packages. Job duties require the technician to install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, configure operating system, and load managed software programs. In this position, the technician will troubleshoot computer problems, perform hardware and software diagnostics, coordinate needed repairs, resolve computer system problems, to include the coordination between users and components of a local area network, and participates in the evaluation of system configuration and software.

Responsibilities include:

  • Timely and professional delivery of hardware or services.
  • Providing courteous, solution-oriented support that builds trust and ensures a positive customer experience during every interaction.
  • Installation and configuration of managed software.
  • Perform technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone or on-site, to include deskside or SpaceBar walkup for hardware and software packages.
  • Install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Configuring operating systems.
  • Troubleshooting computer problems, performing hardware and software diagnostics, and coordinating needed repairs.
  • Resolving computer system problems to include the coordination between users and components of a local area networks.
  • Participation in the evaluation of system configuration and software.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to lift & move equipment up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a NASA IT environment
  • Troubleshooting & resolving IT issues
  • Familiarity with NASA security policies & procedures
  • Current NASA background check & confidence level
