Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Attorney to join our reputable law firm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in personal injury law and a comprehensive understanding of NY personal injury litigation. This role offers an opportunity to advocate for clients, manage complex cases, and contribute to a dynamic legal team committed to delivering exceptional service. Candidates should have experience with taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and arguing motions.
Duties
- Represent clients involved in personal injury claims, ensuring their rights are protected throughout the legal process
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity
- Manage case files from inception through resolution, maintaining meticulous records of all proceedings
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Prepare for and participate in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed
- Stay current on developments in personal injury law as well as related fields such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and others relevant to client cases
- Collaborate with clients to gather evidence and develop case strategies that align with their best interests
- Maintain compliance with all ethical standards and legal requirements
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing
- Proven experience in personal injury law; familiarity with other practice areas such as estate planning or environmental law is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients
- Proficiency in legal research tools including LexisNexis
- Excellent writing skills and ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents
- Legal administrative experience preferred for managing case files efficiently
- Exceptional research skills and attention to detail in handling complex cases
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment
Pay: $70,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
