Personal Injury Case Manager (1 year experience required)

Overview
Okhovat Law Firm, a Sherman Oaks based boutique plaintiff's personal injury law firm, is looking to add a litigation paralegal to our team. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with case preparation and management, ensuring that all legal processes are handled efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong organizational skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. The optimal experience level for this position would be one or more years of personal injury litigation. Interest and passion in personal injury work is preferred. Having worked at a defense firm is a plus and welcomed.

General Duties

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials by organizing case files, drafting pleadings, and summarizing depositions.
• Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases.
• Manage legal documents and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines.
• Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars.
• Maintain accurate records of case management using our internal systems.
• Collaborate with clients, experts, and other professionals involved in personal injury cases.
• Support project management efforts related to case preparation and trial readiness.

Job Responsibilities

The job will require the applicant to handle all aspects of litigation support, including:

• maintaining regular communication with clients to provide updates and obtain necessary information or documents as needed;
• maintaining case calendars and ensuring all litigation deadlines are met;
• drafting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and motions;
• filing documents with the court depending on each jurisdiction's procedures;
• scheduling depositions, court reporters, and interpreters;
• assisting attorneys with trial preparation including exhibits, trial binders, jury instructions, and witness lists;
• tracking medical treatment and outstanding medical liens, and communicating with lienholders if necessary;
• and all other aspects of a personal injury litigation practice under the guidance of our attorneys.
