Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Case Manager to join our dynamic and specialized team in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) team. In this vital role, you will oversee the management of personal injury cases from inception through resolution, ensuring efficient case progression, thorough documentation, and effective communication with clients, attorneys, and external parties. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional client service while maintaining compliance with legal standards and firm policies. Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury claims, coordinating all aspects from initial intake to settlement or trial preparation
- Conduct client interviews to gather case details, medical records, and supporting documentation with professionalism and empathy
- Utilize legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategy and fact-finding efforts
- Prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain comprehensive case management using management platforms such as IKON or legal administrative software
- Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy, providing updates on case status and identifying potential issues early
- Organize and review documents for accuracy, relevance, and completeness while ensuring proper filing within electronic systems
- Support administrative functions such as data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and maintaining organized records to ensure smooth workflow
Experience
- Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience within a law office setting, preferably handling personal injury cases
- Familiarity with legal research platforms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence, reports, and legal documents with clarity and precision
- Experience with document review, proofreading, transcription, and contract management systems is preferred
- Knowledge of relevant laws including workers' compensation law, estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal law & regulations, family law, securities law, patent law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law or litigation is a plus but not required
- Ability to demonstrate effective interviewing techniques and professional phone etiquette while maintaining confidentiality
- Technical proficiency with legal software such as PCLaw or document management systems like iManage is advantageous
