We are seeking a results-driven and organized Personal Injury Department Manager to lead our growing PI division. This is a "player-coach" role perfect for someone who excels at high-level strategy but is equally willing to roll up their sleeves and handle complex files.
You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our Personal Injury cases—from intake to final settlement negotiation. You will oversee support staff, manage relationships with attorneys, and work closely with our billing department to ensure revenue cycles are optimized.
Key Responsibilities
- Active Negotiation: personally handle negotiations with attorneys and law firms regarding case settlements and lien reductions. Your goal is to maximize case value while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Department Leadership: Oversee, train, and mentor support staff to ensure workflows are efficient and protocols are followed.
- Tracking & Metrics: Maintain rigorous tracking logs of all open cases (LOPs/liens). Monitor case status, aging reports, and upcoming statutes of limitation.
- Reporting: Compile and present monthly statistical reports to management, highlighting department performance, collection ratios, and pending settlements.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Participate in regular calls and audits with the Billing Department to ensure accurate coding and ledger balances before settlement.
- Attorney Relations: Ensure the department provides timely, professional responses to attorney requests (records, bills, status updates) to prevent delays in settlement.
- Operational Support: Assist in all areas of the department as needed, including intake, medical records retrieval, and covering for staff during absences.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Personal Injury management, Medical Lien negotiations, or Case Management (Provider or Legal side).
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully negotiating settlements and effectively communicating with attorneys.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for tracking and reporting) and EMR/EHR software.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to explain complex billing details to attorneys and internal management clearly.
- Leadership: Previous experience supervising or leading a team is strongly preferred.
Work Environment
- Schedule: Monday – Friday (Full-time).

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
