Personal Injury Lien Negotiator

Rahnama Law is seeking an experienced Lien Negotiator to join our fast-growing personal injury team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, assertive, and experienced in negotiating medical and third-party liens to maximize client recoveries. This position plays a key role in ensuring that every client receives the highest possible net settlement while maintaining strong relationships with medical providers and lienholders.

You will work directly with attorneys, case managers, and healthcare providers to resolve complex lien issues in a timely and professional manner. This role requires strong communication skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to navigate high-volume cases with precision and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate and reduce medical liens, insurance liens, and other related claims to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Communicate directly with medical providers, insurance companies, and subrogation departments to confirm balances and reach settlements.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all negotiations, correspondence, and reductions within the firm’s case management system (Filevine or comparable).
• Review settlement statements and ensure all disbursements comply with applicable laws and firm policies.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and case managers to prepare lien summaries, finalize disbursements, and close out cases efficiently.
• Conduct legal and factual research to support lien negotiations and identify statutory reduction opportunities.
• Stay informed on current laws and regulations related to lien resolution, including ERISA, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and workers’ compensation liens.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of lien negotiation or personal injury law experience (required).
• Strong understanding of personal injury, medical billing, and subrogation processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Filevine, Lead Docket, or similar case management systems (preferred).
• Familiarity with ERISA, UCC, and workers’ compensation lien procedures is a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Pay: $26.62 - $40.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
