We are seeking a paralegal for our personal injury practice team of several attorneys and paralegals. A minimum of 3 years personal injury paralegal experience is required.

We are looking for someone who likes to work hard on behalf of our clients, enjoys learning new skills and being organized, and is a clear communicator, both in writing and in speaking. We also appreciate a paralegal who is dependable, productive, self-confident, and proactive. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. The ability to multi-task with accuracy, problem solve creatively and work with and within a team are highly desirable. Solid computer skills including typing speed and accuracy of 55+ wpm and familiarity with Word, Clio and Excel are necessary. Some familiarity with other tech and computer programs and applications desirable.

The paralegal will be responsible for those files assigned to them, from each file’s inception to conclusion, which includes, but is not limited to this work:

-Open and manage the files (our files are 90% electronic)

-Build file under direction of attorney including requesting/obtaining/reviewing and compiling medical records/bills, police and other incident reports, etc.

-Assist with client contact

-Participate as invited by attorney in developing case strategy

-Participate in investigation

-Diary case statutes and deadlines

-Coordinate insurance benefits (e.g., PIP, health insurance and defense PIP)

-Identify insurance subrogation claims/liens (including Medicare)

-Assist attorney in preparation of settlement demand packages

-Assist attorney in preparation of discovery requests and responses

-Format and file motions and other pleadings

-Help with trial preparation and trial readiness tasks and post-trial judgments and pleadings

-Assist attorney with settlement disbursement tasks including lien reduction negotiations

One of our attorneys does appellate work. Rarely, duties may include work in the Oregon Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, Federal Court, Ninth Circuit, Washington Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30/hr or more based on experience, employer paid full benefit package

COVID-19 considerations:
Ionization systems have been installed in our HVAC units to kill 90+% of bacteria and viruses. Sanitization wipes and hand sanitizer are placed throughout the office and used generously. We follow CDC guidelines & have a vaccine mandate.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
