Responsibilities

  • Case preparation, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and discovery materials related to personal injury tort claims
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other case management systems to support case strategies
  • Review and analyze medical records, accident reports, and other pertinent documentation for accuracy and relevance
  • Manage case files efficiently using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all records are up-to-date and organized
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather essential information for case development
  • Support litigation processes by preparing for depositions, court appearances, and settlement negotiations
  • Maintain detailed logs of case progress, deadlines, and correspondence while adhering to organizational standards
  • Perform document review and proofreading to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with legal standards

Requirements

  • Proven experience in personal injury law or tort law with strong familiarity with litigation procedures
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Effective interviewing skills for gathering detailed client information
  • Administrative experience supporting law office operations including data entry, filing, transcription, proofreading, and document review
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism through phone etiquette and clerical competence in a fast-paced environment
