Job Summary:

The coach will educate our guests and enforce policies relevant to safe and proper use of equipment. Individuals holding this position must be able to develop, document, and implement one-on-one and group workout programs that match the needs and goals of our guests. The role holder must be able to instruct and lead our guests on basic exercise physiology and inform them of proper lifting and exercise techniques. This person will have knowledge of all fitness floor policies and be able to communicate to a diverse group of patrons why the policies are in place.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Market own professional brand and SPARK brand to clients, ensuring they know all about our services and special offers.
  • Conduct facility tours to clients whenever needed and assigned by the reception team.
  • Take pride and give importance to each and every client irrespective if they take PT sessions or not.
  • SPARK HOURS: Apart from your Personal Training sessions you will have to conduct and instruct a minimum of 1 hour per day group fitness classes and a minimum 1 hour per day to provide our guests with service by assisting them via spotting, answering questions on exercise and techniques as well as demonstrations on fitness equipment to have superior knowledge of fitness equipment and exercises.
  • Upon client’s fitness assessment; provide the workout plan to the senior/head coach for approval.
  • Provide our guests with a detailed individualized workout program based on their fitness results/assessment, using Google Sheets as Spark’s commonly adopted software. The programs and assessment forms must be stored on cloud (Google Drive) and shared with the team whenever it might be requested from Senior or Head Coach.
  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings and trainings based on management request.
  • Actively marketing and promoting current facilities and programs or group classes offered: retain existing members, upsell once possible by upgrading programs/current membership/ PT classes, suggest additional services such as labs and courts.
  • Aid injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications as mandate by the line manager.
  • Continue education through trainings and offered certification courses.
  • Assure the tidiness and cleanliness of the Gym area after each PT session or workout, and re-rack any used equipment.
  • Execute management directives when required.
  • Compulsory dress code adherence at gym: All coaches have to wear the sportswear and gear given by the company management.



Candidate Skills and Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidate should have a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in sport science.
  • Preferred candidates with additional qualifications i.e.: nutritionists, physical therapists, rehab coaches, bodybuilding coaches.
  • Preferred if the candidate has undertaken 2-3 training courses related to physical training.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in the fitness/ sports industry.
  • A positive attitude, politeness and well-mannered.
  • Fit body, compatible with a personal trainer aesthetic requirement.
  • Lifelong education mindset.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft office skills.
  • Good proficiency of the English language.
