Role Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Pet Care Companions to provide a range of pet care services to clients across Northern Virginia.

While many assignments involve dog walking, companions may also provide additional pet-related services depending on the needs of the pet parent.

Assignments are matched based on availability and proximity, with preference given to companions located close to the client.

Typical Responsibilities

Services may include:

• Dog walking
• Pet sitting (drop-ins)
• Overnight pet care
• Feeding and basic pet care
• Transportation of pets to grooming, vet appointments, or other services
• Providing companionship and attention to pets
• Communicating with pet parents about visits and pet well-being
• Supporting pet parents with kindness, patience, and respect

Requirements

• Experience with pets (dogs and/or cats preferred)
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone for communication and scheduling
• Ability to walk dogs and handle pets safely
• Strong communication and reliability
• Must be comfortable interacting with older adults
• Background check is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior pet care, dog walking, or pet sitting experience
• Experience working with older adults or vulnerable populations
• Flexible availability (including occasional evenings or weekends)
