Pet Care Provider & Overnight Sitter

Paws & Claws Pet Care is looking for a dedicated, experienced, and highly reliable pet care professional to join our growing team! We provide premium, structured care for the pets in our care, and we are looking for someone who treats this career with the professionalism it deserves.

As we expand our services in South Jersey, this position carries strong potential to transition into a full-time and/or management position for the right candidate.

Schedule & Availability

• Core Days: Monday through Friday focus.
• Hours: Typically starts around 20 hours per week, with direct potential to scale into a full-time position (30–40 hours per week) as client demand increases.
• Shift Flexibility: Must have open availability to cover various shifts depending on the daily schedule (mornings, middays, afternoons, evenings, nights and overnight stays).
• Weekends & Holidays: Occasional weekends and holiday rotations are required based on business needs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Structured Care: Walk and care for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels, maintaining our high safety and training standards.
• Versatile Sitting: Provide drop-in pet sitting visits and overnight care for dogs, cats, and small animals.
• Instruction Following: Execute precise client instructions regarding pet care, specialized gear use, feeding routines, and medication administration.
• Team Player: Cover for other team members on occasion due to call-outs or peak schedules.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, high-quality, and detailed digital report cards using our company software.

Job Requirements

• Professional Experience: Past experience in professional pet care is required (e.g., dog daycare, boarding facilities, veterinary clinics, dog training, or established professional dog walking/sitting).
• Rock-Solid Reliability: Punctuality is non-negotiable. Our clients and their pets depend heavily on our schedule.
• Transportation: A reliable, insured personal vehicle to travel safely between client locations.
• Weather Tolerance: Comfortable working independently outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, snow).
• Physical Stamina: Able to walk several miles a day, handle dogs that may pull or react on leash, and keep up a good pace even in the summer heat.
• Communication Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both management and clients.
• Smartphone with a High-Quality Camera: A smartphone with a fully functioning, high-quality camera and a reliable data plan is required.
• App Proficiency: Must be comfortable navigating and using multiple smartphone apps daily for client reporting, team scheduling, and payroll (we utilize platforms like PetPocketbook, Homebase, and Gusto).

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
