Pet Care Specialist

I’m currently looking for 1–2 experienced, reliable dog people to join me as I launch The Paw Society, a boutique pet care brand serving Downtown San Diego and surrounding neighborhoods.

The Paw Society is built around a more consistent, high-touch approach to in-home pet care. The goal is to build a small, trusted team clients can rely on, and to deliver a level of service that feels intentional, detail-oriented, and seamless every time.

Please take a look at the website to see if the brand and mission resonate with you. If it does, I’d love to hear from you! I’m looking for someone who genuinely sees the vision and is excited to help shape the standard for care in the city.

The Reality of the Role

Full transparency: The Paw Society is in its startup phase. This is a commission-based, independent contractor role, and the schedule will start slowly as we launch.

This is best suited for someone who is already financially stable or has flexible income and is looking to grow into something long-term. Over time, this can evolve into strong side income or a full-time opportunity as the company scales.

Your role is focused on hands-on care, while I handle operations, bookings, client acquisition, and growth. The people who are on the ground with me in the early stages will be the first considered for leadership opportunities as we expand.

What I’m Looking For

1. Genuine Experience

You have real, verifiable experience with dogs and understand behavior, safety, and structure.

2. Reliability

You are consistent, on time, and follow through. This is a high-trust role.

3. Professional Presence

You are comfortable working in higher-end residential environments and representing the brand with professionalism and care.

4. Local

You live in Downtown San Diego or within a 15-minute radius.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pet care including feeding, walks, medication (if needed), and general care
  • Monitor behavior, health, and overall well-being
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion while in client homes, following secure access and entry protocols at all times
  • Deliver clear, thoughtful updates after each visit
  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with clients

The Details

  • Independence: You may keep your own clients. However, any clients introduced through The Paw Society remain with the company. If you proactively bring in clients or referrals to The Paw Society, there is a referral program in place to honor your contribution.
  • Systems: We use a professional platform to keep everything organized. Clear and efficient communication is expected with both clients and within the Paw Society team.
  • Coverage: You will be fully bonded and insured under The Paw Society.

  • Pet CPR & First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass a background check

Pay: $24.02 - $28.93 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • On-the-job training
  • Opportunities for advancement
