About the Role
We are a small but growing pet care business looking for a Pet Care Team Lead to support our day-to-day operations across both our field services and our kennel facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role, meaning you will spend the majority of your time actively providing pet care services—dog walking, pet transportation, in-home visits, and assisting in our kennel—while also helping guide the team and ensure a high standard of service.
This is not a desk-based management position. The right candidate leads by example, is highly reliable, and enjoys being actively involved in all aspects of pet care.
Key ResponsibilitiesHands-On Pet Care (Primary Focus)
- Perform daily dog walks, pet transportation, and in-home pet care visits
- Assist with kennel operations, including feeding, cleaning, medication administration, and supervising playtime
- Safely handle pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Monitor pet health and behavior and report concerns as needed
- Drive in city conditions (traffic, rain, tight parking) for client visits
- Work in all weather conditions while maintaining high-quality care
Team Leadership & Support
- Act as the go-to person for team members during shifts (field and facility)
- Help train and onboard new staff
- Support scheduling, routing, and shift coverage as needed
- Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, and quality of care
- Communicate issues or improvements to management proactively
Operations & Customer Experience
- Help ensure smooth daily operations across field services and kennel
- Assist with client communication when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and facility
- Monitor supplies and flag operational needs
Schedule & Compensation
- Approximately 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities
- Schedule may include a mix of weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on business needs

Ideal Candidate
- Previous hands-on pet care experience required (kennel + field preferred)
- Natural leader who is comfortable guiding others while doing the work alongside them
- Highly reliable and interested in long-term growth
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working long, active shifts on your feet
- Confident driver with a clean record
- Able to stay calm in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
- Detail-oriented and able to follow systems precisely (use the word “fetch” in your application so we know you read this!)
- Comfortable with physically demanding work (lifting, cleaning, handling difficult pets, all weather conditions)
