We currently have one opening for Part-time General Labor Production, Packaging & Warehouse. On-site WellyTails production and recipe production and packaging training will be provided for the selected candida

FLEXIBLE HOURS

3 - 5 days a week and times that work for employee. Morning, daytime, afternoon, evenings weekends

NO WORK during PE school days and Christmas or Easter school holidays IF YOU WANT TO BE HOME WITH YOUR CHILDREN DURING THESE TIMES.

Work Site Environment

Work with cooked meats, dehydrated meat powders, dusty fruit, vegetable and natural ingredients, Dust, Odours, HOT in summer COLD in winter as it is not an air conditioned or heated warehouse work environment.

Security and Safety

Basic lighted industrial building setting location.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Work in various areas of the production and packaging workflow, cleaning and warehousing including all tasks
• Assist in ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support ongoing improvements of food safety and quality programs.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Basic computer skills for email are needed.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Must be strong and physically fit and able to lift 27Kg (60 pounds) very comfortably
• Performing repetitive production and packaging tasks
• Fast-paced production scheduled demand environment
• Physical Effort: This is a physically demanding position requiring bending and turning and will require continuous standing for extended periods of time as well as heavy lifting of 27Kg (60 pounds) bags, fiber drums and shipping boxes.
• Packaging work involves the regular repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms, shoulders.
• Physical Environment: Regular exposure to factors such as ambient room temperature (no air conditioning), moving equipment and machinery, loud noise.
• Sensory Attention: Regular need to give close attention to hearing and seeing the surroundings.

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY EXPERIENCE

Manual use of food production, packaging, cleaning, and warehouse equipment.

APPLICANTS REQUIREMENTS:

Job Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older
• General knowledge of machinery, production and warehouse operations. Previous experience in food production/processing and packing environment is a definite asset
• Sustained physical effort is required to move throughout work areas, climbing steps, ladders as required, and walking around equipment.
• Must be able to follow safe food production procedures and maintain high product quality
• Ability to work under hot NON-air-conditioned or heated warehouse conditions
• Commitment to personal safety and food quality processes
• Ability to stand and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 27Kg (60 pounds) with relative comfortable ease
• Attention to production and cleaning details
• Work well with others
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
• Critical thinking, have significant use of memory and continuous learning
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and decision making skills
• Reliability/ Dependability
• Must have English speaking, reading and writing communication skills. SPANISH IS HELPFUL
• Basic email and computer skills required for order entry, production tracking and order shipping
• SUPPLY THEIR OWN SAFETY BOOTS AND WORK CLOTHES
