Pet Sitter / Dog Walker

Southern Paws Pet Sitting is hiring dependable Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers to join our team in Sumner County! This year-round, part-time position offers great flexibility and plenty of fresh air, making it perfect for anyone who loves keeping local pets safe, happy, and well-exercised.

What We Look For (Requirements)

• Age: Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Transportation: Must own a reliable, fully insured personal vehicle (this is a mobile position requiring daily travel between client homes).
• Confidence with Animals: A genuine love for pets and complete comfort handling dogs of various sizes and energetic cats.
• Reliability: A trustworthy, responsible self-starter who thrives working independently without direct supervision.
• Weather Tolerance: Comfortable being active and walking outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

The Daily Routine

As a Pet Sitter & Dog Walker, you will travel to our clients' residences across Sumner County to provide top-notch care while their owners are out. Our customized home visits typically last between 15 and 60 minutes.

• Midday & Routine Walks: Lead dogs on safe, timely neighborhood walks and outdoor exercise breaks.
• Home Care Check-ins: Manage precise feeding routines, administer medications, and meticulously follow individual owner checklists.
• Playtime & Companionship: Provide fresh water, interactive play, and plenty of affection to cats and small household animals.

Shift Windows & Availability

Our busiest periods require dedicated, consistent coverage. Regular availability for weekends and holidays is a requirement. We are looking for team members for the following time blocks:

• Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Midday Shift: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Evening Shift: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Compensation & Hours

• Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour (following the completion of our paid training program at $8.00/hr).
• Peak-Hour Premium: $20.00 per hour for shifts completed during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Job Type: Casual, permanent part-time work with flexible hours based on client demand.
