Pet Sitter/Dog Attendant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Sitter/Dog Attendant to provide exceptional care for pets in a professional setting. This role involves caring for animals of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, strong handling skills, and experience working with pets in a veterinary or kennel environment. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with animals while delivering outstanding customer service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and supervision for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medications as needed
• Perform behavioral reinforcement techniques to promote good manners and obedience
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint and handling techniques
• Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and communicate concerns to veterinary staff or pet owners
• Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, and common areas
• Ensure the safety of animals during interactions and activities
• Provide excellent customer service by updating pet owners on their pets’ status and addressing any questions or concerns

Qualifications

• Prior experience in pet sitting, animal handling, or kennel work is preferred
• Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
• Knowledge of dog training, pet grooming, and animal restraint techniques is desirable
• Experience working with animals such as dogs and cats
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting pets or supplies)
• Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being
• Reliable, responsible, and attentive to detail in caring for animals’ needs
