Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

Job Summary
Lexington Dog Walks and Pet Care is seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker/Pet Sitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide excellent care for pets of various breeds and temperaments. As a Pet Sitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our furry clients while providing them with exercise and companionship during their visits. We are in need of a part-time pet sitter which will include some holiday hours. To be considered for the position, please include pet ownership/pet care experience in your application. Duties

• Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation.
• Ability to follow specific instructions for pet care and work independently.
• Monitor the behavior and health of the pets during visits, reporting any concerns to pet owners.
• Maintain control of dogs at all times, employing proper animal restraint techniques when necessary.
• Provide basic pet care, including feeding, administering medications, and cleaning up after pets as needed.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet's behavior, needs, and any incidents that may occur during visits.
• Ensure all equipment used (leashes, harnesses, crates) is safe and in good condition at each visit.

Experience

• Previous experience in dog handling or pet care or pet ownership is preferred but not mandatory.
• Skills in animal restraint, dog training, or veterinary assistance are considered a plus.
• Familiarity with various breeds and their specific needs is beneficial.
• Experience in pet sitting can enhance your candidacy for this role.
• A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care is essential for success in this position.
• Reliable transportation, driver's license and insurance a must.
• You must be 18 years old to work per insurance requirements.
• Background check required.
