Position Overview
LPR Energy is a small, privately held oil and gas exploration and production company operating in the Appalachian Basin and the Eastern Shelf of the Permian Basin. Due to our size, each team member has meaningful impact, significant visibility, and the opportunity to collaborate closely across engineering, regulatory, and operations teams.
We are seeking a full-time Petroleum Engineering Technician at our Dallas, TX office who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about wearing multiple hats. This is an office-based role with minimal to no field exposure, supporting Production Engineering, Drilling & Completions, Reservoir Engineering, Regulatory/Compliance, and Field Operations. The position offers variety, problem-solving opportunities, and hands-on involvement in a dynamic technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Analysis
- Collect, load, validate, and analyze engineering and production data
- Build and maintain spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and data visuals
- Prepare charts, tables, and presentations for engineers and leadership
Engineering Support
- Assist engineers with calculations, production surveillance, and technical documentation
- Maintain well files, well histories, and wellbore diagrams
Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings for Texas RRC and Pennsylvania
- Maintain compliance-ready well files and supporting documentation
- Track regulatory deadlines and ensure accuracy and completeness
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate information flow between engineering, operations, regulatory, accounting, and IT teams
- Assist with meeting preparation, scheduling, and internal updates
Administrative & General Support
- Support planning, documentation, and project tracking
- Assist with multi-discipline workflows and operational priorities
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing workflows
- Authorized to work in the United States
Education
- Degree preferred in Engineering Technology, Petroleum Technology, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
Experience
- Entry-level to early career (approximately 1–4 years of relevant experience)
- Experience in oil and gas operations, engineering support, regulatory compliance, or data analysis preferred
- Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Kingdom, Enverus / DI / Prism, Spotfire, Petrosight, ComboCurve, or PowerPoint is a plus
Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
