Roles & Responsibilities of a PGT Biology Teacher

• Teach biology (botany, zoology, genetics, etc.) to classes 9, 10, 11 & 12.
• Prepare lesson plans, presentations, and assignments as per CBSE guidelines.
• Use interactive teaching methods like smartboards, animations, and models for better understanding.
• Train students for CBSE board exams.
• Conduct doubt-clearing sessions and encourage critical thinking in students.
• Organize and supervise biology practicals, ensuring compliance with the CBSE lab manual.
• Teach students how to use microscopes, prepare slides, and conduct dissections (where applicable).
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biological specimens and chemicals.
• Maintain lab equipment, specimens, and safety measures.
• Prepare and evaluate tests, quizzes, assignments, and practical exams.
• Track student performance and provide individual feedback.
• Maintain student records for academic progress and assessments.
• Stay updated with CBSE syllabus updates and new educational trends.
• Develop engaging and structured lesson plans aligned with CBSE guidelines.
• Integrate real-world applications of biology into the syllabus.
• Guide students on career options in medical, paramedical, research, and biotech fields.
• Encourage participation in biology olympiads, science fairs, and research projects.
• Motivate students to develop scientific temperament and research skills.
