Role Overview:
To educate, inspire, and nurture students' understanding of biological principles, concepts, and processes, while fostering critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and curiosity through hands-on learning experiences, laboratory investigations, and real-world applications, ultimately preparing students to become informed and responsible citizens, capable of making informed decisions about the natural world and their place within it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Deliver high-quality instruction on biological principles, concepts, and processes, fostering a deep understanding of biology and its applications.
- Scientific Thinking and Problem Solving: Encourage students to think critically and scientifically about biological issues, helping them develop problem-solving skills and make informed decisions.
- Laboratory Instruction: Design and conduct laboratory investigations and experiments to illustrate biological concepts and foster a hands-on learning environment that promotes scientific inquiry.
- Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive biology curriculum aligned with state and national standards.
- Content Coverage: Teach students about biological processes and systems, including cells, genetics, and ecosystems, and help them understand the interconnectedness of living organisms and their environments.
- Student Assessment and Feedback: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding of biological concepts and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning.
- Environmental Awareness: Teach students the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability, encouraging them to become responsible stewards of the natural world.
- Student Support Deliverables:
- Provide one-on-one academic support to students struggling with biology concepts.
- Offer extra help sessions outside of regular class time.
- Sponsor a Science or Biology Club to promote interest and enthusiasm in life sciences.
- Classroom Culture: Create a supportive, inclusive, and inquiry-driven classroom environment that encourages respect, curiosity, and collaboration.

- Student Feedback: 80% positive feedback from students through structured feedback forms.
- Parent’s Feedback: 80% positive feedback from parents gathered via periodic surveys.
- Syllabi Completion: 100% of the prescribed syllabus to be covered and documented in the syllabi format.
- Improvement of All Students: Each student should demonstrate at least a 10% improvement from the first to subsequent internal assessments.
- Academic Performance: At least 50% of students should score above 75% in internal exams and board assessments.
Skills: Strong subject expertise, clear communication, student mentoring, adaptability, teamwork.
Qualifications: Master’s/Bachelor’s in Biology with B.Ed. (Residential school experience preferred).
