Job Title – Chemistry Teacher

Role Overview:

To educate, inspire, and guide students in understanding the fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry, fostering their critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and preparing them for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Teach chemistry concepts, theories, and principles to students and use various teaching methods to promote student understanding.
  • Laboratory Instruction: Design and conduct experiments to illustrate chemistry concepts; encourage students to participate in hands-on learning experiences.
  • Student Assessment and Feedback: Assess student understanding and progress in chemistry and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Curriculum Implementation: Ensure 100% of the prescribed syllabus is covered and documented in the syllabi format.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and encourage them to apply chemistry concepts to real-world problems.
  • Student Support Deliverables:
  • Provide one-on-one support to students struggling with chemistry concepts.
  • Offer extra help sessions outside of regular class time.
  • Sponsor a chemistry club or tutoring program to promote subject enthusiasm and support student learning.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advances in chemistry and related fields and incorporate new developments and discoveries into teaching practices.
  • Classroom Culture: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment and foster a positive and respectful classroom culture. Inspire and motivate students to learn chemistry and encourage them to pursue careers in chemistry and related fields.

  • Student Feedback: 80% positive feedback from students through structured feedback forms.
  • Parent’s Feedback: 80% positive feedback from parents gathered via periodic surveys.
  • Syllabi Completion: 100% of the prescribed syllabus to be covered and documented in the syllabi format.
  • Improvement of All Students: Each student should demonstrate at least a 10% improvement from the first to subsequent internal assessments.
  • Academic Performance: At least 50% of students should score above 75% in internal exams and board assessments.

Qualifications:

Master’s/Bachelor’s in Chemistry with B.Ed. (Residential school experience preferred).
