Job Profile: PGT Chemistry Teacher

Job Title: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Chemistry
Reporting To: Head of Department / Principal
Location: Kaushik Public School, Bhaganpur-Haridwar Road, Near Roorkee, District Haridwar
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contractual / Permanent (as applicable)

Job Purpose:

To effectively deliver the Chemistry curriculum to students of Classes 11 and 12, fostering scientific temperament, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of biological concepts. The teacher is expected to prepare students for board exams and competitive entrance examinations (e.g., NEET), and instill a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and interactive Chemistry lessons aligned with CBSE curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and teaching aids.
• Conduct lab sessions and supervise practical experiments.
• Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Prepare students for board exams and competitive entrance tests.
• Maintain student discipline and classroom management.
• Participate in curriculum development, workshops, and school events.
• Coordinate with parents/guardians during PTMs and maintain regular communication.
• Use modern teaching tools such as smart boards, digital platforms, and educational apps.
• Stay updated with recent developments in the field of Chemistry and pedagogy.
• Contribute to extracurricular science activities, clubs, and science fairs.

Qualifications:

• Educational:
• Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized university.
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory.
• Certifications (optional but preferred):
• CTET qualified (if applicable to institution type – especially CBSE-affiliated schools).
• Additional certifications in education technology or pedagogy.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level preferred.
• Fresh postgraduates with excellent subject knowledge and communication skills may be considered by some institutions.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong command over Biology subject and scientific concepts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for teaching (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, MS Teams).
• Classroom management and student engagement techniques.
• Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and abilities.
• Critical thinking, mentoring, and analytical skills.
