The PGT Computer (IT) Teacher is responsible for teaching Computer Science / Information Technology to Senior Secondary classes (XI & XII) as per CBSE curriculum guidelines. The role involves academic excellence, practical lab management, curriculum planning, student mentoring, and integration of technology into teaching-learning processes.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Responsibilities
- Teach Computer Science / Information Technology for Classes XI & XII as per CBSE syllabus.
- Prepare annual lesson plans, unit plans, and daily teaching plans.
- Deliver engaging theory and practical sessions.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical exams, and project evaluations.
- Prepare students for Board Examinations with high academic standards.
- Provide remedial and enrichment support to students.
2. Curriculum & Assessment
- Develop question papers, worksheets, assignments, and study materials.
- Evaluate answer sheets and maintain accurate academic records.
- Analyze student performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Guide students in practical file preparation and project work.
3. Laboratory & Technical Management
- Maintain Computer Lab infrastructure and ensure proper functioning.
- Coordinate with IT support for hardware/software maintenance.
- Ensure installation and updating of required programming tools and applications.
- Maintain lab records, stock registers, and safety protocols.
4. Co-Curricular & Institutional Duties
- Organize coding clubs, IT exhibitions, workshops, and competitions.
- Support school website, ERP, and digital initiatives if required.
- Participate in school events, assemblies, annual functions, and examination duties.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training programs.
5. Student Mentoring & Discipline
- Mentor students for academic and career guidance in IT fields.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / MCA / M.Sc. (CS/IT)
- B.Ed. (Mandatory as per CBSE norms)
- Minimum 2–3 years teaching experience in Senior Secondary (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Python / C++ / Java (as per CBSE syllabus)
- Data Structures, SQL, Networking basics
- Database Management Systems
- Practical Lab supervision
