Role Overview
To educate, inspire, and nurture students' understanding of economic principles, concepts, and theories, while fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and informed decision-making, ultimately preparing students to become knowledgeable and responsible citizens, consumers, and contributors to the global economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction: Deliver high-quality instruction on microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international trade, fostering a deep understanding of economic theories and models.
- Analytical Thinking: Encourage students to think critically and analytically about economic issues, helping them develop problem-solving skills and make informed decisions.
- Data Interpretation: Teach students to understand and interpret economic data, news, and trends, fostering a strong grasp of economic concepts and terminology.
- Classroom Engagement: Create a classroom environment that encourages debate and discussion on economic issues, developing students’ communication, reasoning, and argumentation skills.
- Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding of economic concepts and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills.
- Curriculum Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive economics curriculum that aligns with state and national standards, ensuring coverage for both Commerce and Humanities streams.

- Student Feedback: 80% positive feedback from students through structured feedback forms.
- Parent’s Feedback: 80% positive feedback from parents gathered via periodic surveys.
- Syllabi Completion: 100% of the prescribed syllabus for both Commerce and Humanities streams to be covered and documented in the syllabi format.
- Improvement of All Students: Each student should demonstrate at least a 10% improvement from the first to subsequent internal assessments.
- Academic Performance: At least 50% of students should score above 75% in internal exams and board assessments.
Skills
Strong expertise in economics (micro, macro, international trade), analytical and critical thinking, classroom management, student engagement, and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or related field.
- B.Ed. or teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching Class XI–XII Economics in CBSE curriculum is highly desirable.
