PGT Physics Teacher – Job Role & ResponsibilitiesPosition Overview

A PGT Physics Teacher is responsible for teaching Physics to senior secondary classes (Grades 9,10,11 & 12) following the prescribed curriculum (CBSE/ICSE/State Board). The role includes planning lessons, conducting practical sessions, preparing students for board examinations, and fostering a strong scientific temperament.

Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Teaching

• Deliver engaging and well-structured Physics lessons for classes XI and XII.
• Explain complex scientific concepts using clear, simple methods.
• Integrate real-life examples, demonstrations, and experiments to enhance learning.
• Use modern teaching aids, smart boards, and digital tools.

Academic Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, unit plans, and yearly academic plans.
• Design classroom activities, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain academic records.
• Prepare students for board exams, competitive exams (JEE/NEET), and school exams.
• Ensure timely completion of syllabus as per academic calendar.

Laboratory Work

• Conduct physics practicals safely according to board guidelines.
• Maintain lab equipment, records, and ensure safety protocols.
• Guide students during experiments and projects.

Student Support

• Identify learning gaps and provide additional support/remedial classes.
• Mentor students in science projects, competitions, and exhibitions.
• Encourage curiosity, problem-solving skills, and scientific thinking.

Administrative & School Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops.
• Contribute to school events, annual functions, and exam duties.
• Maintain discipline, classroom decorum, and school policies.

Qualifications Required

• Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Physics or Applied Physics.
• B.Ed. (mandatory for CBSE/ICSE schools).
• Strong subject knowledge and communication skills.
• Experience teaching higher secondary classes preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
