Job Description: Political Science Teacher

Position Summary

The Political Science Teacher is responsible for teaching students about political systems, governance, public administration, constitutions, and civic responsibilities. The teacher will help students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and an understanding of political processes at the local, national, and global levels.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver Political Science lessons according to the prescribed curriculum.
  • Teach topics related to political theory, Indian Constitution, public administration, international relations, and contemporary political issues.
  • Use interactive teaching methods such as debates, discussions, case studies, and multimedia.
  • Encourage students to analyze political events and understand democratic values.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Prepare examinations, class tests, and assignments.
  • Evaluate answer sheets and maintain academic records.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.

Classroom & Student Management

  • Maintain discipline and a positive classroom environment.
  • Ensure active participation of students through group work, presentations, and projects.
  • Identify students needing extra help and provide additional support.

Curriculum & Academic Activities

  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and learning materials.
  • Participate in academic planning meetings, workshops, and faculty development programs.
  • Guide students in political science projects, presentations, and competitions.

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
  • Collaborate with other teachers for interdisciplinary activities.
  • Participate in school events, assemblies, and celebrations.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain attendance and documentation as per school requirements.
  • Follow school policies, examination protocols, and reporting formats.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of political systems, governance, and public policy.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Skills Required

  • Strong reasoning and analytical thinking ability.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Classroom management and student engagement.
  • Knowledge of current political affairs.
  • Familiarity with smart-class tools and digital teaching resources.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
