Summary: The Pharmaceutical Specialist will be responsible for moving medication requests through the systems with precision while communicating with necessary channels effectively to deliver timely, patient centered care.
Responsibilities:

Manage all prescription refill requests received via fax, phone and electronic.

Communicate directly with patients when medications have been delayed, proposing solutions for handling

Resolve general issues when they arise

Manage procedure flow chart with adherence

Assess and analyze patient charts for needed information to deduce next steps

Communicate with providers and medical assistants based on controlled substance protocols

Process all requests timely
Requirements:
-
Ability to interpret faxes, escripts, verbal and written prescription orders

Experience with online prescription systems and EHR’s a plus

Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology

Understanding of Company and HIPAA patient confidentiality and compliance

Must exhibit excellent customer service skills and attention to detail

Ability to identify problems and assist in finding solutions

Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians, providers, and other staff.

Ability to communicate effectively and be an integral part of the team

Ability to use good reasoning and judgment
Education: LPN, RN, MA preferred. Minimum pharmacy tech experience required (1-2 years)
Experience:

EHR systems navigation
-
Med management or prescription refill
-
Work as prescription refill technician or alongside provider as an assistant

2+ years customer service experience
-
Work with deadlines and understand SOP adherence
Mental and Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment.
Conditions: Normal office environment. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, physicians, clients, patients, and other members of the public on a regular basis.
