Job Title: Pharmacist – VASAN EYE CARE Hospital

Department: Pharmacy

Reporting To: Manager

Location: COIMBATORE (R.S.PURAM / LAKSHMI MILLS / THUDIYALUR / KUNIYAMUTHUR)

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing ophthalmic medications accurately, maintaining inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the medical team in providing safe and effective patient care. The role requires sound knowledge of eye-related drugs, formulations, and sterile dispensing practices specific to ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescribed ophthalmic medications and ensure correct dosage and administration instructions.
  • Counsel patients on the proper use of eye drops, ointments, and other ophthalmic products.
  • Maintain and monitor adequate stock levels of medicines and consumables.
  • Ensure proper storage of eye medications, especially temperature- and light-sensitive drugs.
  • Verify prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and possible drug interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase, issue, and returns as per hospital and regulatory norms.
  • Assist doctors and nurses with information regarding ophthalmic pharmacology and new drug updates.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs and pharmacy regulations (Drugs & Cosmetics Act, NABH standards, etc.).
  • Support in audits, expiry management, and reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADR).
  • Coordinate with suppliers and purchase department for timely procurement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: D.Pharm / B.Pharm / M.Pharm from a recognized institution.
  • License: Valid Pharmacy Council registration (mandatory).
  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a hospital setup; exposure to ophthalmology or surgical pharmacy preferred. (FRESHERS CAN ALSO APPLY)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmic formulations and sterile dispensing.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in documentation.
  • Good communication and patient counselling skills.
  • Ability to work in a team with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.
  • Computer literacy (Hospital Information Systems preferred).

Work Environment:

  • Hospital-based; may require rotational shifts, weekend, or on-call duties.
  • Adherence to infection control and safety protocols is mandatory.

  • Compliance with pharmacy audits and NABH standards

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
