Pharmacist Job Description

Position Summary:
A Pharmacist is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for dispensing medications, providing medication therapy management, and offering expert advice on the safe and effective use of prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Pharmacists ensure regulatory compliance, promote patient health, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosage, interactions, and contraindications.
• Review and interpret physicians’ medication orders for accuracy and safety.
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and storage.
• Provide recommendations for over-the-counter medications and health products.
• Perform medication therapy management (MTM) and support chronic disease management.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient medication records.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
• Manage inventory, including ordering, storing, and monitoring pharmaceutical products.
• Administer vaccinations (if licensed and applicable).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans.
• Educate patients and the community on health promotion and disease prevention.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent.
• Active pharmacist license in relevant state/country.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical calculations.
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with pharmacy software and electronic health records (EHR).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
