Job Responsibilities of a Hospital Pharmacist
Dispensing Medicines
Dispense prescribed medicines to in-patients and out-patients accurately according to the doctor’s prescription.
Prescription Checking
Review prescriptions for correct dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing.
Patient Counseling
Educate patients about proper use of medicines, dosage schedule, side effects, storage, and precautions.
Drug Storage & Inventory Management
Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity), manage stock, check expiry dates, and prevent drug shortages.
Clinical Pharmacy Services
Participate in ward rounds with doctors, monitor patient drug therapy, and help in dose adjustments when required.
Preparation of Sterile Products
Prepare and supervise sterile formulations such as injections, IV fluids, and admixtures following aseptic techniques.
Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Monitoring
Identify, document, and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
Drug Information Services
Provide accurate drug information to doctors, nurses, and patients regarding dosage, interactions, and alternatives.
Handling Controlled Drugs
Maintain records and ensure safe storage and legal compliance for narcotic and psychotropic drugs.
Record Maintenance & Documentation
Maintain patient medication records, purchase records, and regulatory documents as per hospital policies.
Qualification & Experience:
D.Pharm / B.Pharm
Registered with State Pharmacy Council
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant pharmacy experience
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
