Job Summary:

A Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring safe drug usage, and providing guidance to patients regarding prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines. They ensure compliance with medical and legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medicines as per doctor’s prescription.
• Verify prescriptions for accuracy and dosage.
• Counsel patients on proper medication usage, dosage, and side effects.
• Maintain pharmacy stock and inventory.
• Check expiry dates and ensure proper storage of medicines.
• Maintain drug records and billing.
• Follow legal and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff.
• Manage controlled drugs as per government regulations.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of medicines and drug interactions.
• Good communication and patient counseling skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge (Pharmacy software, billing).
• Inventory management skills.

Qualification:

• D.Pharm / B.Pharm / M.Pharm
• Registered Pharmacist (State Pharmacy Council registration mandatory)
