Pharmacist

Overview

The Pharmacist ensures the safe, effective, and rational use of medications by providing accurate dispensing, patient education, and clinical support. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and uphold regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage.
• Maintain up-to-date patient medication records and ensure confidentiality.
• Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and checking expiry of pharmaceuticals.
• Provide advice to healthcare staff on drug selection, dosage, interactions, and therapeutic use.
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
• Stay current with developments in pharmacology, therapeutics, and pharmacy practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid pharmacist license/registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and legal requirements.
• Excellent communication, counseling, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, ethical, and committed to patient safety.
