Island Compounding Pharmacy specializes in custom, non-sterile compounded medications that support personalized and preventative care. We formulate bioidentical hormones, nutraceutical blends, and prepare individualized packets designed to optimize patient outcomes for Lile Wellness patients. By working closely with the Lile Wellness clinical team, Island Compounding Pharmacy ensures patients receive safe, precise, and high-quality compounded therapies tailored to their unique needs.

Position Summary

The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at Island Compounding Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, including USP <800> guidelines, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and operational efficiency. This leadership role requires a proactive, detail-oriented pharmacist with strong management and regulatory knowledge, particularly in non-sterile compounding.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

· Serve as the designated PIC per state and federal pharmacy board regulations.

· Ensure full compliance with USP <800>, <795>, and other applicable compounding guidelines.

· Maintain accurate and complete records of all controlled substances, compounded preparations, and compliance documentation.

· Ensure the pharmacy is inspection-ready at all times and respond to regulatory audits and surveys.

· Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with current best practices and regulatory requirements.

Operational Leadership

· Oversee and optimize pharmacy workflow and compounding processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely delivery of medications.

· Manage inventory control, including the ordering, receiving, and storage of ingredients, supplies, and medications.

· Supervise and support compounding pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards.

· Implement quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a high standard of care.

Personnel Management

· Train, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff, including enforcing safety and sanitation protocols.

· Lead regular team meetings to reinforce compliance, communicate changes, and review performance metrics.

· Collaborate with the leadership team to identify staffing needs and assist with hiring and onboarding.

Clinical and Customer Support

· Review and verify all prescriptions and compounded preparations for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.

· Provide guidance to prescribers and patients regarding compounded therapies and proper medication use.

· Address and resolve any quality or service concerns related to patient care.

Required Qualifications

· Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Michigan.

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a compounding pharmacy, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or PIC role preferred.

· Deep knowledge of USP <800>, <795>, DEA regulations, and state pharmacy law.

· Experience in non-sterile compounding

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

· In-office, 4 days and 1 day remote or 5 days in office/40 hours

· Weekends & Major Holidays: Closed

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
