Working closely with our visionary pharmacy owner and Pharmacist in Charge, you'll have the chance to leave your mark on this entrepreneurial journey. Our Staff Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services to the company and consumers through the appropriate evaluation of physician orders, compounding of sterile preparations, and safe and efficient dispensing of medications, supplies, and administration equipment. The staff pharmacist may supervise the activities of pharmacy support personnel, as well as quality control and performance improvement procedures. This position reports to the pharmacy manager. This position can, at any time, be required to assume the duties of any of the various job summaries within the franchised pharmacy (please refer to all other job summaries for job requirements). The staff pharmacist may serve as the backup administrative manager of the pharmacy if the primary manager is unavailable for prolonged periods.

Duties

  • Review and interpret physician medication orders with precision, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness for each patient’s condition.
  • Prepare, dispense, and verify medications, including IV infusions and aseptic preparations, following strict sterile techniques.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy consultations to healthcare providers on medication selection, dosing, potential interactions, and adverse effects.
  • Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting therapy as needed based on physiology knowledge and patient assessment.
  • Understanding and using the pharmacy systems in place to do data entry of patient referrals. Work with referral sources to help patients receive their treatment. Work with patients to make sure they understand the process.
  • The compounding of sterile preparations in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures
  • Assists with quality control and performance improvement activities as directed by the pharmacy manager.
  • 100% training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Experience

  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of Michigan; actively licensed in the state of Michigan.
  • Exceptional interactive skills to engage and collaborate with employees, referral sources, physicians, and consumers.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience preferred to demonstrate your expertise.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding, displaying your specialization with infusion specialty therapies.
  • Sterile compounding training, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Experience with managing pharmacy support personnel, highlighting your leadership abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with IV infusion preparation, aseptic techniques, and medication administration in clinical care settings.
  • Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare teams and patients alike.

Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
