Job Summary
The Pharmacist Supervisor oversees daily pharmacy operations, ensuring safe dispensing practices, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and high-quality pharmaceutical care in accordance with Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and QCHP regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, counseling, and medication management.
- Ensure prescriptions are reviewed for accuracy, interactions, and appropriateness.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and pharmaceutical care.
- Ensure compliance with MOPH, QCHP, and pharmacy regulatory requirements.
- Prepare the pharmacy for audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
- Maintain accurate records for controlled drugs and regulated medications.
- Supervise, schedule, and evaluate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Provide orientation, training, and competency assessments.
- Promote professional conduct and continuous improvement within the pharmacy team.
- Oversee medication procurement, storage, and stock control.
- Monitor expiry dates, stock levels, and wastage.
- Coordinate with suppliers and management for timely replenishment.
- Prepare operational reports and performance indicators.
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare departments.
- Support pharmacy policy development and implementation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent.
- Valid QCHP (MOPH Qatar) Pharmacist License.
- Minimum 5–7 years of pharmacy experience.
- At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or senior pharmacist role.
- Hospital, medical centers or large retail pharmacy experience in Qatar/GCC is an advantage.
