Pharmacist Supervisor

Job Summary

The Pharmacist Supervisor oversees daily pharmacy operations, ensuring safe dispensing practices, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and high-quality pharmaceutical care in accordance with Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and QCHP regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, counseling, and medication management.
• Ensure prescriptions are reviewed for accuracy, interactions, and appropriateness.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and pharmaceutical care.
• Ensure compliance with MOPH, QCHP, and pharmacy regulatory requirements.
• Prepare the pharmacy for audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
• Maintain accurate records for controlled drugs and regulated medications.
• Supervise, schedule, and evaluate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Provide orientation, training, and competency assessments.
• Promote professional conduct and continuous improvement within the pharmacy team.
• Oversee medication procurement, storage, and stock control.
• Monitor expiry dates, stock levels, and wastage.
• Coordinate with suppliers and management for timely replenishment.
• Prepare operational reports and performance indicators.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare departments.
• Support pharmacy policy development and implementation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent.
• Valid QCHP (MOPH Qatar) Pharmacist License.
• Minimum 5–7 years of pharmacy experience.
• At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or senior pharmacist role.
• Hospital, medical centers or large retail pharmacy experience in Qatar/GCC is an advantage.
