The Pharmacy Assistance Specialist helps patients obtain medications through manufacturer assistance programs, coupons, and 340B drug pricing programs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

This is a moderately active role, which requires the ability to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds, bending and standing as necessary.

Must be able to lift, carry and handle equipment, supplies and other work site materials based on position duty requirements.

Work with different pharmaceutical companies and community pharmacists to obtain medication for indigent patients in a timely fashion, utilizing TPC, TPC mobile APP or Google to locate drug manufacturer and track down obscure companies.

Complete application for each pharmaceutical company using their application form and according to their guidelines with which to comply.
- Meet with patients to ascertain information to complete application and to sign necessary forms.

Track medications ordered and re-ordered.
- Present at Staff Meetings, at least quarterly, to discuss changes and promote Pharmacy Assistance.
- Responsible for proper documentation.

May participate in prior authorization process as requested by Chief Compliance Officer on an as needed basis.

Backup for Pharmacy Assistance Specialists at other centers.

Track coupons, certificates and forms from certain companies.

Report pharmacy assistance usage.

Other duties and tasks as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES ASSIGNED TO DESIGNATED BILINGUAL STAFF
1. If qualified, perform interpretation/translation services for ESRHS centers.
2. If qualified, assist patients with signing up for the Migrant Clinician Network.
