MedScript LTC Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Control Room Lead! The Pharmacy Control Room Lead is responsible for coordinating with the Compliance Pharmacist and managerial team on the management of daily workflow and evaluation of technician performance in the pharmacy control room. This role ensures the accuracy of inventory, adherence to regulatory requirements, and implementation of best practices for controlled substance management. This position also qualifies for a $2,000 sign-on bonus!
Available shift:
- Full-Time: Mon- Fri 9 am - 5:30 pm, rotating every third weekend
Primary Duties:
- Oversee daily workflow of the pharmacy control room completing all daily tasks prior to deliveries
- Oversee new hire employee(s) and coordinate training with the Compliance Pharmacist and management team
- Maintain employee performance records including attendance, productivity and error rate; recommend disciplinary action as necessary
- Assist to improve workflow processes through discussion and testing
- Manage shift within assigned payroll budget, with changes requiring final approval from Compliance Pharmacist
- Count, measure and pre-pack medications
- Maintain daily, weekly, monthly compliance measures and reporting
- Maintain dispensing and destruction documentation for medication
- Use pharmacy software for barcode verification for prescription processing
- Able to mix and compound medications precisely, according to a written recipe
- Follow established inventory procedures and manage out-of-stock issues
- Identify quality-related errors and correct these issues as necessary
- Stock supplies such as bags, boxes, ice packs, etc.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Present a positive attitude and professional appearance
- Participate and prepare for quarterly audits, as needed
- Conduct and attend meetings, as needed
- Meet with Compliance Pharmacist weekly to discuss department updates
Qualifications:
High School Diploma required. Nationally certified pharmacy technician license required.
Previous pharmacy experience is required; long term care pharmacy experience and management experience preferred.
May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. May need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
