Pharmacy Delivery Driver

Role Responsibilities (including but limited to)

  • Deliver medications to patients using own vehicle (partial gas reimbursement)
  • Willing to act as a delivery driver and pharmacy technician.
  • Willing to learn and use pharmacy system, PioneerRX.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, health care providers, and insurers.
  • Count, label, and reconstitute prescription medications
  • Assist the pharmacist with managing inventory
  • Maintain and clean equipment, work areas, and shelves.
  • Input and retrieve information through the pharmacy system and point-of-sale system
  • Process and prepare third-party insurance claims
  • Read and interpret physician’s medication orders
  • Maintain accurate patient and client profiles
  • Prepare and package medications requiring special handling in accordance with safety measures
  • Aid in filling, processing, and dispensing medications
  • Re-package and label medications
  • Adhere to safety practices in order to ensure quality care for patients
  • Help maintain the drug inventory through inventory control practices
  • Provide customer service by answering phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Triage requests and prioritize them
  • Check for expiration dates on medications on a regular basis.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age, required.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a pharmacy technician, required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required.
  • Current pharmacy technician registration/certification, required.
  • Pharmacy technician licensure in the state you are working in, required.
  • Basic mathematics skills include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, required.
  • Effective computer and keyboarding skills, required.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy information systems .
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work with team members across lines of difference including but not limited to race/ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
  • Strong prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions independently and effectively.
  • Able to operate equipment such as computers, scan guns, tablet counters, and cash registers.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practice.
