Pharmacy Delivery Driver

The Pharmacy Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of prescriptions to patients on behalf of Medical Associates Plus (MAP). This role supports the pharmacy team by ensuring the secure handling of medications, maintaining delivery logs, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries. The Pharmacy Delivery Driver must comply with all applicable state and federal transportation and health privacy regulations and contribute to maintaining a positive image of MAP in the community.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Deliver prescriptions to patients promptly and professionally.

  • Maintain a clean and safe company vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.

  • Accurately complete and maintain delivery and vehicle logbooks as required.

  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all prescription medications during transport.

  • Provide excellent customer service and represent MAP in a positive, professional manner.

  • Understand and follow all current documentation and delivery protocols.

  • Assist with vehicle upkeep and cleanliness.

  • Perform all tasks in compliance with corporate policies, state laws, and federal regulations.

  • Always maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by the pharmacist or management.


Qualifications


Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • At least 18 years of age (or as required by state law).

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Previous delivery or customer service experience preferred.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Professional, courteous demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

  • Flexibility to meet changing patient and organizational needs.

  • Ability to collaborate with pharmacy and healthcare team members.

  • Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages accurately


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements



  • Requires frequent driving in various weather and traffic conditions.

  • May involve sitting, walking, standing, bending, reaching, or lifting to 25 pounds.

  • Regular exposure to road and outdoor elements.

  • Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity for delivery and handling documentation.

  • May involve occasional evening or weekend hours.
