Pharmacy Fill Technician- Evenings

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Fill Technician, where your precision and dedication will directly impact patient care. In this vital role, you will assist in accurately preparing and dispensing medications within a fast-paced hospital environment. Your expertise will support pharmacists in ensuring timely medication delivery, adhering to strict safety protocols, and maintaining high standards of patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in LTC (Long-Term Care). Hours are 1:30pm to 10pm Monday thru Friday.

Duties

• Accurately fill medication orders by measuring, packaging, and labeling prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy protocols and medical terminology.
• Verify medication accuracy against prescriptions, ensuring proper dosage, patient information, and medication details are correct.
• Assist with medication intake processes, including reviewing physician orders and managing inventory levels for LTC and hospital units.
• Maintain meticulous records of medication preparation, dispensing logs, and inventory updates to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Follow strict safety procedures during medication handling to uphold aseptic technique and prevent contamination or errors.

Experience

• Prior pharmacy technician experience in hospital or acute care settings is essential, with familiarity in LTC pharmacy preferred.
• Demonstrated critical care experience, including handling complex medication regimens such as IV infusions.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to hospital pharmacy operations and patient care.
• Experience with medication administration processes and patient service within a healthcare environment.
• Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced settings.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools is advantageous.
• Certification as a pharmacy technician is prefered but can also have a tech in training License.
