Community Compounding Pharmacy (CCP) is a compounding pharmacy, which is a pharmacy that custom makes medication to fit patients’ specific needs. We are a retail pharmacy that specializes in naturopathic and integrative compounded medications. CCP is one of the largest compounding pharmacies in the Northwest. We ship not only to patients in Oregon, but we regularly fill and ship compounded prescriptions to patients across the U.S. In addition to being a large retail pharmacy, CCP is developing and expanding to include other services, education, and conferences to assist other small pharmacies.

Position Overview

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start or advance a career in the field of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Lab Support position supports the lab technicians with general lab cleaning, cleaning lab equipment, and simple laundry. This position also assists with monitoring storage and inventory of medications and supplies.

Primary Responsibilities

The essential functions of the Pharmacy Lab Support position include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to lab standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing lab equipment and tools used in the compounding and filling processes using commercial grade cleaning equipment.
  • Performing general lab cleaning as needed.
  • Processing lab laundry.
  • Assisting with inventory maintenance and updates.
  • Assisting with other lab projects as requested.

Other Duties

Non-essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Oregon Pharmacy Technician license a plus.
  • Work experience in a pharmacy environment preferred.
  • Experience in a compounding pharmacy preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with using standard computer software applications like email, etc.
  • Ability to learn and utilize pharmacy software systems.
  • Ability to perform accurate work following prescribed processes and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Professional communication style and ability to work well with all types of individuals.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • This is primarily a lab-based position which requires sitting, standing, walking, bending and reaching.
  • Light lifting (up to 25lbs) is frequently required.
  • Dexterity and use of hands is required continuously for manipulating objects, typing, and use of a mouse and computer keyboard.
  • Visual acuity to allow for reading a computer screen, drug labels, directions, operating procedures and instructions is frequently necessary.
  • Talking and hearing is required frequently.
  • Concentrating is continuously required.

Immunization:

Staff members must meet immunization requirements as stated in CCP’s immunization policy and state and federal guidelines.

Pay: $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
