The Pharmacy Liaison is responsible for supporting the coordination and fulfillment of prescriptions from outpatient physician practices. The role involves ensuring prescriptions are filled safely and without delays by focusing on coordinating prescription access, completing prior authorizations, assisting with patient financial support programs, and routing prescriptions to the appropriate contract pharmacy. The Pharmacy Liaison serves as a key link between patients, prescribers, pharmacies, payers, and the care team. They will ensure confidentiality, verify and input data accurately, and respond promptly and compassionately to patient inquiries. The role also requires recognizing when language assistance is needed, and handling emergency situations, provider concerns, and general questions with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Medical office or retail pharmacy experience with knowledge of prescription drug insurance and prior authorization processes

3. Pharmacy Technician Board Certification. NYS Registered Pharmacy Technician within 3 months of hire.

4. Excellent communication skills, customer service skills and computer proficiency required
